IRATA Certification
IRATA stands for Industrial Rope Access Trade Association and has been in the 80 years in life is called to ensure safety for the industry as a result of the growing number of companies that keep busy with industrial rope techniques.
The IRATA certificate can be obtained through a course with exam is acknowledged worldwide and is proof that the person is qualified to perform rope access work in a safe and beheersde way.
IRATA distinguishes three levels, with 1 being the lowest and 3 the highest.
The course lasts 5 days (4 days lesson, one day exam)
Requirements for IRATA level 1
- Minimum age 18 years
- Physically and medically fit
- No experience required
- No fear of heights
Capabilities IRATA level 1:
- Do not work under the supervision of an IRATA level 3
- Responsible for own rope access equipment
Requirements for IRATA level 2:
- Minimum of 12 months and 1,000 hours of experience as IRATA level 1
- Physically and medically fit
Capabilities IRATA level 2:
- Rope Installations and rescue, including transportation ropes under the supervision of an IRATA level 3
Requirements for IRATA level 3:
- Minimum of 12 months and 1,000 hours of experience as IRATA Level 2
- Physically and medically fit
- A valid First Aid certificate
- A written recommendation from an IRATA certified company
Capabilities IRATA level 3:
- Supervision keep rope access projects
- At the height of advanced rescue techniques
- Familiar with relevant work techniques and legislation
